How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant: Overcome These 6 Obstacles by Kathy
Getting pregnant is a breeze, right? Not if you’re one of the ten percent of couples who have trouble conceiving! With delayed childbirth and busy schedules, families are finding themselves unable to get pregnant as quickly as they’d hoped. That said, here’s the good news. You can increase your chances of getting pregnant- by following these simple six steps.
First, I’ll say that there are obviously medical causes for infertility, which you want to check out with a specialist. However, many couples are diagnosed as infertile, and given no specific reason by their doctor.
This is where these natural remedies can be invaluable, and help you avoid the costly exploratory medical route or procedures. In this write-up, we’ll discuss some of the typical obstacles you may encounter, and then suggest solutions that can help you overcome them.
6 Obstacles You Can Overcome that Will Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant:
Obstacle 1: Not having sex often enough!
Are you one of the couples who would like to get pregnant, but then don’t concentrate on it as much as you’d originally intended? You’re not alone on this one, since careers, commutes and family commitments can get in the way of pre-planning sex.
Solution: Have sex more often!
It’s tough, but someone’s gotta do it! Give yourself enough time around your fertility window – and have sex 2-3 times or so. For the rest of the month it’s okay to allow sex to be more spontaneous, but not during this time.
Obstacle 2: Using a less than optimal position during sex.
Like sexual irregularity, this seems like a no-brainer to fix, right? Yet, sexual position is often overlooked -even while it can dramatically improve your results.
Solution: Have sex in this position:
You guessed it — the missionary position is your best bet. Better yet, tuck a pillow under your bottom to help create upward tilt. To really spice it up, use a menstrual cup after sex, which will help hold the seminal fluid inside you.
Obstacle 3: Your hormones are out of sync.
As you may know, imbalanced hormones can be caused by a number of factors, but a big one is body weight. Both overweight and underweight messes with your hormones, which means you’ve lowered your chances of getting pregnant.
Solution: Have your hormone levels checked and get them into balance.
First, make sure to talk to your doctor about possible causes of hormone imbalance and ask about ways to get them back in sync.
Once you’ve done this step, try and get to your ideal weight. Your diet plays a major factor in your hormone levels and is one of the major ways of impacting your chances of getting pregnant!
Obstacle 4: Your body isn’t ready to get pregnant.
This one surprises people, as lots of women get pregnant when they’re not in perfect health. While this does happen, many women are now having children in our 30′s or 40′s – which can impact your chances of getting pregnant. If you’re over 25 or 30, this means your body may need a little coaxing into pregnancy.
Solution: Improve your lifestyle and health habits- even if it’s just one change!
To stay out of overwhelm, keep any changes simple and focus on one thing – like quitting smoking, cutting back on sugar, or eating more veggies. Just a couple of changes could make the difference.
Obstacle 5: Your partner’s body isn’t ready.
Since many men are also waiting to have children these days, maybe your partner’s lifestyle might be negatively impacting his ability to produce enough semen, or high quality sperm. A few small changes can help his sperm count – such as avoiding hot showers, or any heat around the scrotum. His overall health can impact his ability to produce healthy sperm, too.
Solution: Support his sperm enhancement efforts.
Cooler showers, looser fitting underwear, healthier diet, and so on can help him to start. It’s a great idea to have him simply join your health and dietary efforts efforts, which benefits both of you.
Obstacle 6: Stress is getting in the way.
Are you busy with careers, school, and your social life? When you’re busy, it’s natural to feel some stress – especially when planning a major lifestyle choice like having a baby. Just remember that stress produces cortisol – which is called the stress hormone, which negatively impacts all types of body functions.
Solution: Shift your priorities to lower stress.
Stress can make or break your chances of getting pregnant. If you’ve been on the go a lot, you’ll want to balance your pace once you get pregnant, anyway -so you may as well take it easy on yourself now.
Your best plan for getting pregnant quickly is to be as informed as possible! Work with your doctors, perhaps a naturopath, and keep reading and trying out different approaches and remedies. All the best to you in becoming future parents soon!
