Post-Natal Exercise Routines To Help With Weight Loss After Having A Baby
When you first found out that you were going to have a baby your doctors first instructions were probably “start gaining weight.”
Weight gain is a natural part of pregnancy. Eating for two makes it pretty easy to gain weight. Now that your baby has been born, however, you probably want to start shedding pounds as quickly as possible. You want your figure to back to how it was before. You’ll be glad to know that we’ve compiled three things that you can do to get your weight back to it’s previous state after you have had your baby. Try any one of them and you’re sure to be able to fit into your old clothes again in no time.
Yoga: Yoga uses stretching and toning to get back in shape. The best part about yoga is that it’s slow and non-impact so you can actually get your workout in while your baby is napping. There are many videos online that can take you through a yoga workout, and there are even some Smartphone apps that can give you some great yoga moves to do. After you have done yoga for a little while you will notice that, not only do your clothes fit better, but that your body feels stronger and better as well.
The Super Crunch: This is an abdominal exercise that should be included in every post-natal routine. In this exercise, you need to lie down while keeping your knees bent and your feet sitting flat on the floor. With your hands behind your head, inhale and exhale as you draw your abs in and lift your head and shoulders off the floor. Hold that position while you also lift your knees until they are touching your elbows while you also lift your hips up slightly off of the ground. Return to your beginning position. Do three sets of twelve to twenty and your abdominals will be rock hard in no time, and that weight will start coming off too.
Walking: In 2007 a Harvard study proved that a half an hour of walking each day increases a woman’s chances of losing her baby weight. Women in this study lost an average of eleven pounds and most of them had lost all of the weight they wanted to lose by their kids’s first birthdays. Therefore, you need to go outside and get some fresh air! It doesn’t matter when you walk, but if you are going to be pushing your baby in a stroller, then make sure you are going when the weather is baby-friendly.
Take lots of fluids with you when you go. Taking a walk every day will help you drop pounds very quickly. Getting that baby weight off means maintaining a good healthy diet and exercise routine three or more days per week. Keep it up and in just a few weeks you should be able to see great results, which should give you the motivation to continue until all of your pregnancy weight is gone.
