Lose Weight After Your Pregnancy
Don’t worry if you are less than thrilled with the weight that you have gained during your pregnancy. You can lose that weight quickly and easily as long as you know what to do. You may be thinking that you will not have the time to exercise because your baby is so young that it needs to have you super close by almost all of the time. Of course, your baby will be taking lots of naps. If you get used to working out while your baby takes a nap, you won’t have to wait a long time to see good results. Here are a few things that you can do during naptime that will help you feel better and look better.
Leg Kicks: This is a great workout for getting your pulse going and it also makes your abs rock-hard. To start out, lay down on your side while assuming the pike position (slightly bent at the waist). Keep the bottom leg bent for balance and then straighten your top leg and bring it as far forward as you can manage. With your leg up in the air, move it so that it hovers over your bottom leg. Without lowering your leg, repeat the movement ten times. Roll over and repeat with your other leg. Three reps of ten on each side will give you the results you want very fast.
Pilates: Pilates might seem slow (or lame) but it helps you burn 226 calories every hour.
That’s quite a lot of calories with very few stretching movements on your part. You can find moves for your workout through DVDs, online videos or even books. One of the best exercises to do after giving birth is to lie on your back and bend your knees. Put your hands behind your head and take a breath. Then, breathe out as you contract your abs and lift your head and shoulders off the floor. Then, straighten out your legs and lift them into a forty five degree angle from your body while you stretch out your arms and keep your palms down. Pump your arms while inhaling rhythmicly for five beats. Then use five beats to breathe back out. If you can do 100 of these a day you’ll get into shape faster than you think!
Walking: In 2007 a Harvard study proved that a half an hour of walking each day increases a woman’s chances of losing her baby weight. Women in this study lost an average of eleven pounds and most of them had lost all of the weight they wanted to lose by their kids’s first birthdays. Therefore, you need to go outside and get some fresh air! It doesn’t matter when you walk, but if you are going to be pushing your baby in a stroller, then make sure you are going when the weather is baby-friendly.
Take lots of fluids with you when you go. Taking a walk every day will help you drop pounds very quickly.
There you go! These are some of the best ways that a woman can lose weight and get back to her pre-pregnancy size. Use these tips so that you can be sure you will fit into your old clothing after a short time.
