For every woman, pregnancy is an even of joy, uncertainty and fear. The thought of the unborn child brings joy but at the same time, the safety issues of the child and mother both make them scared. If these pregnant women could get the proper information about the various pregnancy terms, the symptoms and the precautions to be taken then it could ease the whole process to a great extent. Every stage of the pregnancy is very critical and has to be dealt carefully so that both mother and the child are healthy. The stages of pregnancy are basically divided into three stages which are called trimesters. The symptoms of the first trimester of pregnancy are-

1. Tiredness which is mainly during morning time (morning sickness).
2. The size of the breasts change
3. Vomiting and nausea
4. Frequent urination

By the time the first three months of the pregnancy terms (first trimester) get over, the fetus shows the heart beat, movement in the body. There should be proper and regular medical checkup done during this stage. For the first timers, it becomes difficult to identify that they are pregnant and by the time it happens the first trimester is almost getting over. Any kind of abnormality like pain or light bleeding needs to be reported to the medical person immediately as the chances of miscarriage is more during this period. The changes during the second trimester are-

1. Change in the body configuration.
2. The belly is swollen and the pregnant women can feel the child growing in the womb.
3. The colostrums(the first milk) is produced in the breast
4. There might be change in the color of nipples and areolas

The size of the fetus gets increased by the end of the 2nd trimester and the pregnant women put on lots of weight and the belly looks prominent.

The last stage of the pregnancy term is the third trimester. By this time, the pregnant women start preparing for the child birth. The lower back and the breast seem to be loaded. There can be problems while sleeping at night. Certain precautions are to be taken for each stage of pregnancy. Taking nutritious diet, doing light exercises is necessary for all the stages. Mental health is also very important along with the physical health which can be obtained by relaxing, reading books, listening music and talking to friends.
