Post pregnancy weight loss question?

I had my son over six months ago. I gained 80lbs, yes 80lbs during the pregnancy. Went from 140 to 220. I have lost 45 pounds so far but in the last month I haven’t lost anything. I have hit a plateau and I’m afraid I won’t lose the rest. I’m breastfeeding and I eat relatively well, drinks tons of water. Because of feet problems I can’t go out and walk, I use my yoga ball for exercise but it doesn’t give me any cardio. Did you plateau? Did you lose more after you stopped breastfeeding? I have cut my calories to 1800 day, according to my doc that is the least I can consume without compromising the breastfeeding. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Weight loss is a funny thing, it’s very easy to gain and very difficult to lose. Breastfeeding actually helps with weight loss, so I don’t think you will lose more once you stop. You just have to continue to eat right, watch your calorie intake and work out. You may need to change your excerise routine add an extra 1/2 hour or so and definitely get some cardio going on, that should get you going again. You’ve lost 45 pounds already and you should be patting yourself on the back for that instead of worrying about the rest. Everyone plateaus.
