HELP. I think I’ve been using OPKs wrong! (pic)?

I was using my first morning urine, which I recently discovered you’re NOT supposed to do…
Why is this? Does it give a false positive?

I read on peeonastick.com that it varies by brand as to whether the entire line needs to be as dark as the control line, or if, like yours, the edge of the line being dark like that indicates a positive. It was kind of funny, bc the girl who runs the site called the info number on one brand and they said that that was a positive. Then she switched brands, and kept getting results like yours, even once when she just poured tap water on it. She was like, “My kitchen faucet is ovulating?” but it turned out that the new brand required the majority of the test line to be as dark as or darker than the control line, so those were really negatives. So, long story short, it depends on the brand.
