My boyfriend will miss my ultra-sound, what can I do?

To make him feel better? It’s my 20 week ultrasound, the big one, where the nurse will say “It’s a boy or a girl”. My boyfriend can’t make it due to his work schedule without risking his job. I’m pretty sad, but he’s taking it worse because he really wanted to be there. I really want him to have as many pictures of it as possible. Do they make videos of it? (I have Kaiser, and they don’t seem to do anything special, but I’m wondering.) He’s really bummed, and I want to make him feel like he’s still a part of this pregnancy. Any ideas how I can make the news special for him, even though he can’t be there? He was pretty detatched from the pregnancy in the begining, but he was REALLY excited about this, and I don’t want him to get detatched again.
I cant reschedule it because it was scheduled like, 2 months in advance, and it would be another month. Kaiser is a pain in the butt when it comes to this, believe me, I tried that.

talk to your OB about 4d imaging ultrasound places and schedule an ultrasound there and wait to find out the baby’s sex until then

you should be able to get at least a few printed pictures from your ob
put them in a special card and make a big deal out of it to tell your bf

i really suggest rescheduling if possible

if you dont have speakerphone then just call him after the nurse finds the sex and have her tell both of you at the same time or do the whole ultrasound over the phone with him
